Mobile-first view for marking items unavailable on the floor.
The Floor view is designed for one thing: flip items between Available and Sold Out as fast as possible during service, on a phone, without leaving the dining room.
What it solves
Mid-service, you run out of fries. A diner orders fries. Awkward conversation, refunded order. If you'd marked Fries sold-out 30 seconds earlier, the diner would never have seen it as an option.
The Floor view is built for that 30-second flip — big tiles, one tap, optimistic feedback.
How to open it
From Stores → your store → Floor. The page is mobile-first — open it on a phone for the intended layout, but it also works fine on a tablet or laptop.
How it works
Step 1 — See every item, grouped by category
The page shows every item as a tile. Available items are tinged green; sold-out items are tinged red. You can see at a glance what's currently 86'd.
Step 2 — Tap to toggle
Tap any tile to flip. The tile color changes instantly (optimistic update). If the network call fails, the tile reverts and shows an error.
Step 3 — Diners see the change within 30 seconds
The menu page caches at the edge for 30 seconds. So your toggle lands almost-immediately for new scans; existing scans that haven't refreshed continue to show the old state.
Give your floor staff their own Drentio account with editor-only access. Use Team → Invite. Grant restaurant: editor. They can use the Floor view but can't accidentally change prices, edit your menu, or see customer data.
Why mobile-first
Real floor staff don't sit at a desk with a dashboard open. They're carrying phones, taking orders, moving between tables. The page is optimized for thumb taps with phone in one hand:
