Discount codes

Cart-applied promo codes with usage limits.

ProPremium

Promo codes are typed by diners at checkout to get a discount on their order. Useful for loyalty rewards, social campaigns, recovering an unhappy customer, or seasonal pushes.

How to create one

Step 1 — Open Promo Codes tab

From Stores → your store → Promo Codes.

Step 2 — Tap +New

Fill in:

  • Code — what the diner types (e.g. WELCOME10, SUMMER25). All caps recommended; the system normalizes.
  • Discount type — percentage (e.g. 10% off) or fixed amount (e.g. $5 off)
  • Discount value — the number itself
  • Minimum order — only applies above this amount (optional)
  • Max uses — total number of times this code can be used across all diners (optional — leave blank for unlimited)
  • Expires — auto-disable after this date (optional)

Step 3 — Distribute

Share the code via:

  • Email to your subscriber list
  • Social media posts
  • Print on a flyer
  • Text to a specific customer (apology / recovery)

The diner experience

In the cart drawer, there's a "Have a code?" link. Tap → enter code → tap Apply. If valid, the discount appears as a line item ("Promo WELCOME10 −$3.50"). Total updates live.

If the code is invalid, expired, or below the minimum order, the diner sees a clear error message.

Single-use codes: for an apology / recovery message to one specific customer, set Max uses = 1. The first time it's redeemed it auto-disables for everyone else.

Common patterns

  • WELCOME10 — 10% off your first order, no min, unlimited uses, no expiry
  • LUNCH15 — 15% off orders > $20, expires in 30 days (mid-day flash promo)
  • SORRY — $10 off, max 1 use (apology code for one customer)
  • FRIEND — 5% off, no min (referral campaign with social posts)
