Payment processors

How Stripe Connect handles customer collection, and how to run cash-only where Stripe isn't available.

Drentio handles two distinct money flows. Make sure you know which one you're configuring before you wire anything up.

The two flows

FlowWho collectsWhat it pays forHow
Platform billingDrentio collects from youYour module subscriptions (QR Pro, Restaurant Premium, etc.)Stripe — cards / Apple Pay / Google Pay
Customer collectionYou collect from your customersRestaurant orders, Bio Link sales, BC contact captures with tipping, Wallet addStripe Connect (or manual cash for regions Stripe doesn't serve)

The rest of this article is about customer collection — how your restaurant takes order payments, how your Bio Link page sells products, how a bio-page tip jar receives money.

Operating where Stripe doesn't serve well? Email support@drentio.com with your use case + country. In the meantime, you can run online ordering as cash-only — orders still flow into the Orders tab, and staff marks each one paid on collection.

How to connect (per-brand)

Step 1 — Decide which brand needs payments

A payment processor is configured per brand, not per workspace. If you have Smash & Co. (restaurant, takes orders) and Lumen Strategy (consulting, doesn't take payments), only Smash & Co. needs Stripe connected.

Step 2 — Brand settings → Payments

/dashboard/<brand-slug>/settings → Payments.

Step 3 — Connect Stripe

Click Connect Stripe. You're redirected to Stripe Connect to either:

  • Sign in to an existing Stripe account (most common)
  • Create a new Stripe account if you don't have one (5-minute KYC flow)

Stripe returns you to Drentio with the account linked.

Step 4 — Test with $1

Use Stripe's test mode or push a real $1 transaction through your menu / Bio Link / card to confirm the money lands in your Stripe balance.

Fees

LayerWhat's taken
Stripe's feeStandard Stripe rate — typically 2.9% + $0.30 in the US; varies by region
Drentio's platform fee$0 — we don't take a cut of your transactions

You keep everything Stripe gives you. Drentio makes money on your subscription, not on your customers' payments.
